Mastering Texts and Human Experiences

Fee: $25 per student, GST inclusive
Minimum booking fee: Each incursion has a minimum charge of $2,000, equivalent to 80 students.
For bookings of fewer than 80 students, the minimum incursion fee of $2,000 applies. For bookings of more than 80 students, the fee is calculated at $25 per student.
Multiple incursion discount: Schools booking two or more incursions on the same day or across consecutive days receive a 10% discount on the incursion fees.
Travel fee: Travel and accommodation are charged separately for in-person incursions outside the Riverina region. From 1 July 2026, our travel fee is $650, GST inclusive.
Online incursions via Zoom are charged at the same student rate and minimum booking fee, but do not attract a travel fee.
Materials: All students receive an incursion booklet.
Texts and Human Experiences Essay Writing Incursion Description
Designed to strengthen students’ understanding of the Texts and Human Experiences focus area, this incursion helps Year 12 Standard and Advanced students get to grips with their prescribed text and prepare for analytical writing in assessment and examination contexts by:
Clarifying the key concerns of Texts and Human Experiences, including how texts represent and provide insight into emotional, intellectual, physical, cultural, and lived experiences.
Helping students develop strong, adaptable essay arguments about their prescribed text, with a focus on close textual analysis, evidence, and drawing insights.
Walking students through a practice examination-style question so they can build a thesis, plan a line of argument, and understand how to write with confidence and precision.
Each incursion is tailored to the prescribed text your students are studying.
Mastering Section I: Texts and Human Experiences Incursion Description
This incursion helps students prepare for Section I of the Paper 1 HSC English examination, with a focus on reading and responding to unseen texts.
Students will be guided through:
Reading unseen texts strategically and identifying key ideas about human experiences.
Recognising how composers use form, language, and structure to represent human experiences.
Writing precise, evidence-based short-answer responses.
Managing mark value, timing, and depth of analysis across a range of question types.
This incursion is suitable for all Standard and Advanced students preparing for Paper 1.
